Dr. Sujith V. Cherian is Associate Professor within the divisions of Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at the University of Texas Health-McGovern Medical School, Houston, Texas, USA. He is director of Quality Improvement, as well as director of Interventional Pulmonology and Pleural Services at the Lyndon B Johnson Hospital, Houston. He also serves as associate medical director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the Lyndon B Johnson Hospital.

Dr. Cherian has received several teaching awards at UT Health and was inducted into the Academy of Master Educators at UT Health in 2022. With more than 75 peer reviewed publications, he also published more than 10 book chapters and recently co-edited a book on Rare Lung Diseases. Dr. Cherian is an elected fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) and is a member of several national and international pulmonary organizations including World Organization of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology and American Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology. He holds several leadership positions in the ACCP and serves on the editorial board in several journals including CHEST and Shanghai Chest. Furthermore, he is section editor of Occupational and Environmental Lung Diseases in Current Pulmonology Reports and serves as peer reviewer for several leading respiratory journals worldwide.
